Osmanthus Double-boiler Poached Pear


According to traditional Chinese medicine, pear is capable of moistening the throat and lungs and help relieves cough and clear phlegm. When I tried this dessert, I truly believed it really helps. I'm a big fan of desserts so I found this dessert is very fragrant of the scent of osmanthus flower and it is very nutritious and healthy too.


Pears dessert are always my choice and its easy to prepare too. You can omit the osmanthus flower if you do not like it but i tell you its really make a different taste.


You can get osmanthus flower at any Chinese health food or Chinese herbal medicine stores.


Osmanthus Double-Boiler Poached Pear

What you need:-
-1 Chinese pear
-1 tbsp osmanthus flower
-1 tsp kei ji (wolfberry)
-10 pcs red dates
-10 pcs dry longan (optional)
-1 tbsp sweet & bitter almonds (mixed)
-1 candied date
-dry white fungus (optional) -soaked
-rock sugar to taste
-1 litres water



Method:-
1) Wash and cut the pear into 4 pcs
2) rinse the dried osmanthus flowers then scoop it into a disposable tea bag, set aside
3) then wash the red dates, both almonds, dry longan and kei ji
4) place all the ingredients into the double boiled pot and boiled for 2 hours.
5) add in the rock sugar to taste


You can served this dessert warm or chilled. For chilled, keep the dessert in the fridge after cooling down. See, it's easy right.
