Homemade Black and White Soya Bean Milk

My mum told me to add in some black soya bean when I make soya bean milk. She claimed that black soya bean is good for health. I will not ask why and since she has it in the pantry then I just followed her instructions ( ◡́.◡̀).....

Whichever beans you are using, the method is still the same. I can tell you there is no difference in taste if you are using black soya bean. It is still yummy!

Sushi Bread

Normally we will eat bread with ham, bacon, sausages and eggs for breakfast. We can call it big breakfast if you like. But all of a sudden, I had this idea about sushi bread. I still remember when I made this sushi bread was last year in January, 2014.

This was the first time I made it in 2014. I used cocktail sausage, egg and ham.

I do not want to take out the pan so I do not use egg this time. I dumped everything into my BAF. Set the time and go...

Sushi Bread
Recipe source from : Fiona Low

What you need:-
-bacon
-ham
-cocktail sausages
-cut seaweed
-bread

Method:-
1) Trim the bread and cut it into the same length as the sausages. You can make 6 pcs from one slice of bread.
2) Bake at 200c : 5 mins for sausages, 5 mins for ham and 8 mins for bacon. If you prefer the bacon to be more crunchy, bake it for another 2 mins. You can use non stick pan to fry it, if you do not have BAF at home.
3) Cut the seaweed to the prefer length (longer than the bread).
4) Stack the two pcs bread together and put 2 sausages on top the bread then seal it with the seaweed.
5) For bacon, I just roll the bacon up and seal it with seaweed. Serve with mustard sauce and chili

Even my mum was excited about it and asked for a piece. LOL!!

I served this sushi bread with my Homemade Soya Bean Milk . The kids just love it. I hope your kids love them too.

Hong Kong Style Egg Tart

I remembered the last time I made egg tarts was the mini size ones. Since its mini, so I can not really pour a lot of the filling inside. The egg mixture will shrink after baking. And I only can taste the skin texture only. After my mum brought BAF (Buffalo Air Fryer) back and I saw the recipe book with egg tart recipe. They are using evaporated milk which my previous recipe was not using. I immediately weigh the evaporated milk and guess what... I got 85g of the milk which the recipe stated and required.  Just nice!

So what am I still waiting for? haha.. I took out the ingredients that I need and start to make the crust. Since I have my TM with me, everything seems very fast and easy. Let me share the recipe here ..

Hong Kong Style Egg Tart
Recipe source from : BAF recipe book

What you need:-
For the Crust

-225g plain flour
-125g butter (I use SCS brand) - room temperature
-55g icing sugar
-1 egg beaten
-A dash of vanilla extract (I use vanilla essence)

For the egg custard
-3 eggs
-110g caster sugar
-225g hot water
-85g evaporated milk
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract (I use vanilla essence)

Method of making crust:- (using TM method)
1) Put all the ingredients into the TM bowl except eggs at 10 sec/ speed 6
2) Add in the eggs and press knead button for 15 sec
3) Take out the dough and firmly press into the tart moulds. Gently prick some hole using a fork
4) Bake it at 160c for 15mins

Method of making egg custard
1) Put all the egg custard ingredients and blend for 20 sec/ speed 3
2) Then sift it
3) Pour the custard as full as possible into the ready baked crust and bake another 8-10mins at 160c.
4) Insert a toothpick into the egg custard, it is ready if the toothpick stands on its own

If I'm not mistaken, the total amount of time used was 15 mins. With TM, it makes everything easy!

Why only two moulds inside? haha.. I was testing the right temperature. I do not want all my crusts to be burnt since I still need some time to get used to this new gadget.

All right. And it is done! ;)

The outcome before unmould.

Look at the custard. Wow~yummy... I got as much filling as I want. The sweetness is just as per my liking.

See, little hand can not wait to grab one! hahaha...

Moonlight Cake House

My friend Jenny had recommended to me this place quite some time ago. But now only I managed to pay a visit. I brought my mum together to enjoy the food with us. The night is so cold and drizzling but it didn't stop us from dropping by. We managed to find a parking lot just in front of the cafe (since hubby said it's very hard to look for a parking, I guess we were lucky).

Their menu~Let's start our order..

Hubby and I order our usual coffee, Cappuccino and Latte
I rate 7/10

This is my son's dinner, grilled chicken burger with fries (if I'm not mistaken). The chicken was very juicy and tastes delicious. He finished it all~hahaha
I rate 8/10

My mum ordered tom yum mee hoon. She said she had cravings for tom yum but she was not disappointed at all! The taste was awesome. The spiciness and the sourness were just perfectly well blended. I will come again for the tom yum. Perfect choice for a cold night. I rate 9/10

I had this Moonlight fried rice. I shared with my youngest boy that can not take spicy. Yes, this rice is supposed to be spicy. I do not know how it will taste like with the original recipe with chili but I guess it will taste better than non spicy. For me, this rice it's a bit oily and the taste so so only. I can taste the turmeric powder inside too. Overall, I rate 6/10.

We ordered pizza too. I prefer those pizzas with pineapple. I rate it 6/10

3 kinds of mussels. Non of them taste nice..ooppss~~I rate 5/10

I bought a piece of Durian Mousse cake back for my breakfast the next day. The smell of the durian really made me want to eat it immediately. Well, I can say that the cakes and breads are all nice and pretty delicious but not the Ala Carte dishes I guess. I rate 8/10

Inside Moonlight Cake. Love the giant tree in the middle of the surrounding cake/bread area, giving the environment a forest feel.

I guess only these two pastry attracted me to take a picture. Hahaha

He spotted the area that he love the most. Whenever I said Moooonlight Caakeee Housee he will have a laugh~LOL

I will visit again for the cakes and bread. The environment is very suitable for a couple and a family dinner there .
